Until his appearance in the saga John Wickthe most relevant role in Lance Reddick’s career came in The Wire. This series was broadcast between 2002 and 2008. There were a total of five seasons in which he played Lt. Cedric Danielsof Narcotics.

His figure did not only remain within this department. Because of his relationship with various members of other police forces, Lieutenant Cedric Daniels was a figure of reference. However, as with most of the main characters in The Wirethe above admits some nuances. Although he served as an authority figure, the development of his character was marked by several complex situations, in which ethics and morals were questioned, such as his relationship with his wife and the need to keep up appearances.

Perhaps his most problematic, yet symbolic dynamic on good terms, was with the protagonist, James ‘Jimmy’ McNulty (Dominic West), of the Homicide department. Due to common cases and various personal and bureaucratic situations, especially when discussing approaches and methods, these characters were on a constant pulse. This bond between the two was one of the aspects that nurtured The Wire.
