Isn’t DSDS over? The producer refutes the statements of RTL

Dieter Bohlen returns to DSDS – this should be the show’s final season. But suddenly it doesn’t feel like a definite end anymore.

Many fans of “Deutschland sucht den Superstar” recently cheered, but were shocked at the same time. The reason: RTL had announced that cult judge Dieter Bohlen would return for the next anniversary season. At the same time, however, the broadcaster revealed that this is set to be the hit show’s final season. However, film and television producer and UFA boss Nico Hofmann does not believe the programme, produced by UFA Show & Factual, will be buried after the anniversary.

Silbereisen’s attempt was ‘fair’

“I think the way RTL makes the whole program more family-friendly is the right one,” Hofmann told “Bild am Sonntag”. It was therefore also fair for him to “test a more family variant with Florian Silbereisen. And Florian moderated very well.”

The 40-year-old artist sat next to Ilse DeLange and Toby Gad on the jury this year after RTL announced in March 2021 that Bohlen would not be part of the 19th season. A few days ago, when Bohlen’s return was announced, the broadcaster confirmed that the jury trio would no longer be around for the anniversary. Instead, they are working on new formats with Silbereisen.
