British actor Bernard Cribbins is dead, his agency confirmed on Thursday, according to concordant media reports. The actor, who starred in the cult series “Doctor Who” for several years, was 93 years old.

“Bernard’s contribution to British entertainment is beyond doubt,” said a statement from the agency, available to US broadcaster CNN, among others. “He was one of a kind and represented the best of his generation and will be sorely missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing and working with him.”
