At what point in the Star Wars chronology is Andor?

At what point in the complicated Star Wars chronology do the events you will narrate take place Andoron Disney+? The vicissitudes of the tragic rebel explore an unusual place in the saga’s timeline. Whatever happened prior to the events of Rogue One Is a dark spot in the long history of a galaxy far, far away. Or at least, until now, there was no protagonist witness to the early years of the Resistance.

The closest thing to the subject in the live action was the recently completed Obi Wan Kenobi. The premise of the show included uncovering the events experienced by the fugitive jedi ten years after the fall of The Republic. However, the program devoted much of its attention to showing the character’s inner conflict.

In addition to his inevitable confrontation with Darth Vader. The context surrounding him was shown as a partial look at the early attempts to resist the intergalactic totalitarian regime. But not about what was going on at the very core of The Rebellion.

Andorwhich has been described as a plot close to “a spy premise,” could be the first to delve into the subject on several different levels. Or at least, in how the inhabitants of different planets reacted to the Empire’s iron grip on their lives. A point of considerable interest, when it comes to understanding how natural resistance to power became a shock organization.

A singular moment in George Lucas’s mythology

Andor
The first clear point is that everything you’ll see in the series. Andor takes place five years before the events of Rogue One. A fact revealed by the showrunner of the series, Tony Gilroy. As will be recalled, in the plot of the feature film Cassian Andor was a rebel deeply committed to the cause. One, moreover, who had lived a whole series of situations in favor of the resistance and who had a complicated history behind him.
The accuracy of the creative allows us to conclude that events in. Andor it will be approximately five years before A New Hopebut they take place after Revenge of the Sith. In other words, it is the prequel to an existing. But it is also the sequel to a larger Star Wars story.

As complicated as it sounds, it’s not that complicated Andor is set in the events following the fall of The Republic, when The Rebellion was little more than a natural reaction to the authoritarian system. An intriguing approach that gives the script the opportunity to show the process of how such a group was organized.

So much so as to gain followers in spheres of power and also within the Empire itself. Something that was touched upon this same year. By the time it happens Obi Wan Kenobi it is already evident that members of the new regime are beginning to notice the extent of their violence. So it is likely that Andor travels the arduous path from an abstract cause to a more refined and effective strategy.

A new take on an old conflict

Showrunner Tony Gilroy has insisted that the series be a fresh setting. Especially amid the plethora of Star Wars narratives released in the last decade. According to the creative, who will be at the helm of the show’s two confirmed seasons, the look at the early days of The Rebellion will be unprecedented. In addition, it will involve details of major events that impact several possible future storylines in the franchise.

Gilroy also explained to Nerdist that the first installment of Andor will have twelve episodes and will cover a year in the character’s life. The next one will delve into the four prior to the moment Cassian decided to participate in the one-way mission of Rogue One. According to Gildroy, the story will ultimately dovetail seamlessly with the film. A fact he emphasized in a recent interview with Total Film in which he specified that the second season will unite the revered feature film and the series.

“We have four blocks of three [episodios] next [para la temporada 2]… And each one will bring you one year closer to Rogue One. And because it’s a year [cada vez], we get to do something really fascinating narratively that you would never get a chance to develop in a movie. It’s exciting.”

Andor and his close relationship with the universe Star Wars

Of course, the date on which the events in Andor is not a unique milestone in the saga. In fact, it coincides with the first season of Star Wars Rebelswhich also takes place five years before the events of A New Hope. Although there is no confirmation about the possibility of cameos or the inclusion of characters from the series in Andorit would not be impossible for it to happen. I could contextualize it several scenarios at once, related to The Rebellion and its scope.

The temporal coincidence of Andor with three narratives, will show that there were several rebel groups acting at the same time. This means that The Rebellion began with a local resistance and, at the same time, with a perception of danger independent of each other. The Rebel Alliance, which would later become a fundamental element in Star Wars, was still going through its first moments of integration. Cassian’s vision as protagonist and observer of such a circumstance will bring considerable value to the plot.

The Importance of Senator Mon Mothma

One of the points Tony Gilroy has emphasized is that the classic character Mon Mothma is of enormous significance in Andor. In particular, because it will show how The Rebellion was not only a decision among anonymous militants. It also involved the spheres of power that began to understand the danger of Empire in the future. As will be recalled, the senator was part of the plot of the Return of the Jediin the story of which he played an active role in the battle of Endor.

At Andorthe relevant figure will undergo a fundamental moral transformation. The narrative will include doubts and questions about her loyalties, until she goes from Imperial Senator to having a preponderant place in The Rebellion. Something that was made clear in several scenes of the iconic Rogue One.

The Force Sensitive on Andor

One point to consider in Andor is the role that might or might not be played by the fugitive jedi and survivors of the Empire’s Order 66. One of the most significant names is an old acquaintance for fans of Star Wars-based video games. Carl Kestis, the character from Jedi: Fallen Order could debut in the live action.

A rumor that began during the taping of the show and, as yet, has not been disproved. The plot of its story takes place approximately fourteen years before A New Hope. Which could make both plot lines coincide at one point or another.

However, the creators of Andor have made it clear, more than once, that their intention is to give the series a dark and political feel. Which would move the story away from anything related to The Force. So it is likely that the red-haired jedi is not included in the plot. The same could be said of Ahsoka Tano.

Although in the case of Anakin Skywalker’s former Padawan, there is still a slight hope for her appearance on Andor. As narrated by Rebelsthe jedi was a spy for the Fulcrum organization, to which Cassian would also belong. Could this be the linking point between the series Andor And the future one involving Ahsoka Tano’s story? It remains to be seen.
